________________________________________________________________________________________________                 Observation: Recently, with more ongoing world turmoil, previous support .and resistance prices are being used to determine long or short positions.

For example, once resistance lines above the current price are exceeded, long positions are established, with the next resistance line being the profit-taking target.  The long position is exited with a loss if the price closes below the initial resistance line.  At that time a short position might be taken and the next support line (below the current price) becomes the profit target.
